Vintage item, never used. A Hagi-yaki (萩焼) yunomi tea cup, embodying the quiet elegance and natural warmth that have made Hagi ware one of Japan's most treasured ceramic traditions. Its simple cylindrical form and soft earthy palette invite slow, mindful moments over a cup of tea.

Handcrafted in the renowned pottery town of Hagi in Yamaguchi Prefecture, this yunomi features the gentle, milky-pink tones characteristic of classic Hagi-yaki. Delicate variations of blush, beige, and warm ivory blend seamlessly across the surface, while the subtle throwing lines and softly textured clay preserve the artisan's touch. The understated glaze creates a calm, organic appearance that celebrates the Japanese appreciation of natural beauty and imperfection.

Hagi-yaki has been closely associated with the Japanese tea ceremony since the early Edo period and is admired for its soft clay body and distinctive glaze. Over time, Hagi ware develops a unique patina through use, a phenomenon known as "Hagi no Nanabake" (萩の七化け), where tea gradually enhances the character of the glaze, making each piece increasingly personal to its owner.

The comfortable size and gently rounded rim make this yunomi equally suited for sencha, hōjicha, genmaicha, or everyday tea, while its timeless design also allows it to be appreciated as a display piece in a collection of traditional Japanese ceramics.
