FT222 - Japan paper lantern 提灯
This is a traditional Japanese paper lantern (提灯, Chōchin) with a collapsible design, crafted from washi paper, a traditional Japanese handmade paper known for its lightness and translucency.
The lantern is predominantly purple and features hand-painted style artwork including pink and purple flowers with green leaves, as well as a depiction of a temple structure. The top and bottom ends are reinforced with black plastic fittings, ensuring durability and allowing the lantern to collapse and expand easily. A black carrying handle is attached at the top for hanging, and a foldable supporting frame is fitted on the side, allowing it to be stored compactly when not in use.
This lantern is a decorative and cultural artifact, representing traditional Japanese craftsmanship. The washi used here is very thin and delicate, making the lantern fragile. There is a small hole on the paper please see the last photo.
Size: 12 x 15 x 25cm
