This Maneki-neko Lucky Cat by Shōhō is made from clay and painted in a striking matte black finish, with vivid red accents on the ears and collar. A small bell decorates the cat’s neck, symbolizing protection and the calling in of good fortune.

Shōhō 昭峰 is a traditional Japanese pottery figurines maker, especially for auspicious ceramic ornaments produced in Japan. Pieces marked 昭峰作 are ceramic figures often associated with with other Japanese pottery workshops such as 薬師窯 (Yakushi‑gama), and they are commonly sold as good‑luck charms, zodiac figurines, or folk craft decorations.
