This charming ceramic bank figure represents Yaruki Jizō やる気地蔵, a cheerful and motivational interpretation of Jizō Bosatsu, one of Japan’s most beloved guardian deities. With his round, childlike face and beaming smile, this little figure embodies encouragement and vitality—“やる気” (yaruki) meaning “willingness,” “spirit,” or “drive.” He holds a small wooden rice paddle inscribed with やる気地蔵, symbolizing both support and the energy to persevere.

Crafted with a speckled white glaze and seated on a glossy red base, he wears a red cloth bib adorned with the kanji 福 (fuku), meaning “good fortune.” On his back is a coin slot, making him both a symbol of motivation and a functional piggy bank.

This piece comes from 厳島 (Itsuku-shima), the sacred island in Hiroshima Bay known for Itsukushima Shrine and its iconic floating torii gate. As a souvenir, it carries both the spiritual resonance of the island and the uplifting message of staying motivated and fortunate in life. Perfect as a heartfelt gift or a meaningful addition to any collection.
