Vintage item never used. This set by Ryōsen 亮泉 showcases the timeless artistry of Tokoname-yaki 常滑焼, one of Japan’s oldest and most celebrated pottery traditions. The pieces are formed from Tokoname’s signature reddish clay, creating a warm, earthy base that highlights the potter’s refined technique.

Tokoname-yaki made from Tokoname’s distinctive iron-rich clay, the pieces display the warm reddish tones for which the region is famous. Originating in Aichi Prefecture, Tokoname is the oldest and largest of the Six Ancient Kiln sites. Production dates back to the Heian and Kamakura periods, with the area long known for utilitarian wares such as jars, pots, and storage vessels.

Rich reddish-brown clay accented with soft, milky white glazing. Striking spiral and comb-patterned interiors, giving each bowl a dynamic sense of movement and texture. Balanced forms with smooth surfaces, demonstrating skilled wheel craftsmanship.

A harmonious blend of rustic character and modern simplicity.
