Vintage item, never used. A beautiful Japanese wooden lacquerware tea saucer set (木製漆器 茶托), featuring a warm reddish-brown finish and elegant natural wood grain.
Each saucer has a gently curved oval shape with a recessed centre, designed to hold a traditional Japanese teacup (Yunomi). The smooth lacquered surface enhances the natural beauty of the wood, while the simple, understated design reflects the timeless elegance of Japanese craftsmanship.
In Japanese tea culture, Chataku (茶托) are small saucers traditionally placed beneath teacups when serving guests. Beyond their practical purpose, they represent hospitality, respect, and attention to detail, making them an essential element of traditional Japanese tea presentation.
This charming vintage set is perfect for serving Japanese green tea, complementing a tea ceremony-inspired setting, or adding a touch of traditional Japanese elegance to everyday life.
