Kijiguruma – simple but lovely wooden pheasant toy. Most of these wooden toys came from the Kyushu region. Since ancient times, it is believed that the small wooden bird on wheels brings luck, connections, and harmony to the family. The figurine is made by carving dried out pine or paulownia using only a hatchet or blade, then assembled without using a single nail and finally painted.
