Shigeharu Ueno (上野重治, 1937–) born on April 13, 1937, Shigeharu Ueno is a watercolorist and commercial designer based in Hiroshima Prefecture. In 1961, he established Ueno Commercial Design, the foundation for his lifelong dedication to art and regional expression.
His talent was soon recognized with selections to the Hiroshima Prefectural Art Exhibition, followed by a Bronze Award at the 2nd Onomichi Art Town Four Seasons Exhibition in 1987. He later published the Onomichi Art Town Landscape Postcard Set and held several solo exhibitions, including in Onomichi, Numakuma Town, and at the Miroku-no-Sato Museum. In 1993, he was selected for the 79th Kofu-kai Exhibition.
A member of the Hiroshima Kofu-kai, the Japan Artists Association, and the Churchill Society Onomichi, Ueno is known for his heartfelt depictions of daily life and scenic beauty in western Japan.
