This vintage omiyage kokeshi featuring a hand-painted depiction of Seimon Ōhashi (正門大橋), one of the most iconic bridges leading to the Tokyo Imperial Palace. The kokeshi has a whimsical, rounded bobbled head with a cheerful expression, highlighted by thinly arched eyebrows, delicate black eyes. The body is slender and subtly tapered, with a black background, serving as a dramatic backdrop for the intricate painted scene beautifully illustrates Seimon Ōhashi, with its elegant arch structure, surrounded by lush green trees and a glimpse of the Imperial Palace grounds, adding a sense of depth and cultural significance. Seimon Ōhashi (正門大橋), meaning “Main Gate Grand Bridge”. The bridge is not open to the public, but it is a popular sightseeing spot from the Kōkyo Gaien (Imperial Palace Outer Garden).
