RARE! A vintage Satsuma-yaki 薩摩焼 ceramic Kokeshi from the 1970s. The doll features the signature 貫入 (kannyū) crackled glaze typical of Satsuma ware, with hand-painted 金彩 (kinsai) gold embellishments accentuating its delicate features and floral decoration.
Handmade in the famous Satsuma region, it combines tradition with sophistication. Satsuma-yaki ceramics, renowned for their finesse and delicate decorations, give this Kokeshi a refined look.
The doll’s peaceful expression, softly painted with minimalist strokes, is framed by sweeping golden lines that define the hair. A bouquet of red, blue, and green flowers adds vivid charm to the body, embodying the warm, nostalgic spirit of regional Japanese handicraft.
