Yasuo Okazaki born on January 3, 1954, as the eldest son of Okazaki Jinji, a kokeshi craftsman, and Shima in Shinyashiki, Naruko-cho, Tamazukuri-gun, Miyagi Prefecture.
Following in the style of Hitoshi Okazaki, he produces standard Naruko-style kokeshi dolls. In addition to making kokeshi in the workshop in front of the Okaji store in Shinyashiki, he also makes them in the demonstration room at the Japan Kokeshi Museum.
