This is an interesting Shikishi card I collected, an ink wash drawing with a poem on the front. This poem is about the dried straw and the grass growing next to it telling it that spring has come. On the back of the Shikishi there is a message and wishes from the artist to a friend which has become a mother. A metaphor, such as the growing grass to represent a newborn baby which brings hope just like spring.
